I had no idea it would be so difficult to change the template for my blog, but, after much trial and even more error, I’ve finally settled on a new template.
Unfortunately, with this format, I couldn’t keep my “Because capitalism…. doesn’t work for everybody” theme which was enshrined by the amazing and ever-talented Debra over at Blogging Change into the Paulitics Button. (

But this new format is going to allow me to make the Paulitics polling resource bigger (literally) and, I hope, make the blog easier to read.
If anybody else has feedback on the new template, as always, I greatly value feedback and do take action on it.

I will miss your header. I do so wish you could reincorporate it. It spoke with so much meaning.
I agree. I loved the header. It’s easier to read dark text on a white background, though. Perhaps a little more fiddling and you can make it work?

Love the new clean format but miss the nice graphic interest of the old blog.
Personally, I’m a big fan of the simpler, cleaner wordpress themes. It makes things easier to read which, after all, is the point of the blog anyway.

I am glad you changed the old template — the font was way too small. But this particular template is not one of my favourite WordPress themes. There are others, which are much better and which would have allowed you to include your header. I am thinking of the PressRow theme, for example.
Wgpatels – I experiemented with every WordPress which allowed for me to keep my original header but I had to go with this one for a few reasons. Probably the biggest reason was because my polling resource was wider than almost all of the WordPress themes with a custom header so I would have had to go through and change all of the Polling Resource updates I’ve done since I started the blog. That said, PressRow was an exception and was wide enough to accomodate the graphics I use for the polling resource, but unfortunately, it lists the pages (and I have a lot of them) at the top above the header. Had I changed all of my pages to be ‘child’ pages of a parent page (such as my ‘about me’ page) in order to minimize the clutter caused by having so many pages, then the URL changes and all of my (and everybody else’s) hyperlinks end up pointing to nowhere.
I did experiment with changing the structure of my pages because I agree with you, PressRow was really quite nice. But in the end, this was the one theme which didn’t cut off my polling resource and which allowed me to keep my resource pages as is, without having to change the URL.
